Assembly and Maintenance Instructions
Correct installation extends the service life of the hydraulic seals and helps prevent leakage or premature wear. Follow these guidelines when installing the KOM-22L-09-R1Z30 seal kit:
Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the cylinder, grooves, piston, rod and cylinder head. Remove old seal residues, dirt, metal chips and oil deposits before fitting the new seals.
Check: Inspect the piston rod, cylinder tube, grooves and guides for scratches, burrs, corrosion or wear. Damaged components can immediately damage new seals.
Lubrication: Lightly lubricate the seals with clean, compatible hydraulic oil or suitable assembly grease. This makes installation easier and reduces the risk of tearing or deformation.
Use suitable tools: Preferably use plastic or rounded assembly tools. Avoid sharp screwdrivers or metal hooks that could damage the sealing lips.
Prevent twisting: Place the seals evenly in the groove and prevent them from being installed twisted or folded. An incorrectly positioned seal can cause immediate leakage.
After installation: Move the cylinder calmly and in a controlled manner after installation. Check for leakage, irregular movement and correct pressure build-up before the machine is fully loaded.
